i probably would consider myself a spiritualist even though i'm not really familiar with any of the seven principles or what is involved in it. no other 'label' seems to fit with me. maybe i'll fit better as a wiccan or a pagan as time goes on, but i don't currently practise. i'm just learning about everything i can.

probably the hardest question anyone asks me is 'do you believe in god?'

i never quite know how to answer that.

i don't believe in the bible is what i usually start off by saying. ...

In the 1980's, I helped a close friend of mine, Mrs Lily Crewe, who I'd met through the spiritualist movement, to set up the Pontefract Spiritualist Church. Services are held on Monday nights in an upstairs room within Pontefract Town Hall. It was Lily who first told me the story of the Black Monk of Chequerfield (which is an area of Pontefract). Lily knew Mrs Pritchard, the lady who lived in the house where these poltergeist experiences happened, back in 1966. Mrs Pritchard once told Lily she'd ...

If ghost, poltergeists and things that go bump in the night interest you, I think you may find the Sallie House fascinating. I first heard of the Sallie house a few months back, after watching a programme called 'Unexplained Mysteries' on SKY television. This programme focused on a poltergeist case in America. The poltergeist which was supposed to be the spirit of a small child, kept attacking the male owner of the house leaving long deep scratches on various parts of his body and face. The young ...

THE FOX SISTERS - Rise and Fall of Spiritualism's Founders

Here's a link that tells how Spiritualism first began in America, in the mid 1880's. It's come a long way since these early beginnings. Did you know the famous medium Helen Duncan was the last person to be imprisoned under the Witchcraft Act of 1735? (Not because she was a witch, but because as a medium she could procure spirits.) Wonder what would have happened to mediums like Colin Fry and Derek Acorah back then?

It's long been thought that several WWII Cabinet Ministers regularly attended ...
