Hi Enigma,
yet again yes, I have a set of crystal Rune stones, Have tentivley worked with them. But at this time didn't feel as comfortable as I do the Tarot...felt as if I was doing something I shouldn't 🇳🇴 if that makes sense??
maybe in time...

PostSubject: Various Rune links (including how to make runes and simple spreads)   Fri Apr 24, 2009 10:22 am

I love runes and have several sets that include my simple green plastic runes (these were my first set and I still use these now) amethyst crystal runes, clay Healing runes and rune stones made from pebbles that were taken from a beach), I also have 2 sets of Rune Cards.

Here are several links about how to make runes, some simple 3 and 5 rune spreads and how to make a drawstring bag that you can keep your runes in.

If you don't yet know the meanings of the Runes, you can find some of their meanings by looking in Useful Links section and accessing the Free Automated Readings link. I added that particular link to help people familiarise themselves with meanings of Tarot cards, runes, dominoes and other divinatory oracles.

Hi Fluffy,

Runes are always said to work better if you make them yourself. I bet the crystals and wooden ones your partner's made work really well. I love runes as I find them far more 'adaptable' than tarot, and if I do myself a reading I usually read runes and the Osiris Board, don't normally read tarot for myself. Mind you, saying that, I'm about to receive a pack of Vision Quest tarot cards that I bought from ebay. I first saw this deck at our Enigma's house and I fell in love with them straight away. I've found them very easy to use (far better than any other tarot deck I've tried, so far) and I find I don't regard them like tarot when I read them. Can't wait to start using my deck, also bought Power Animal oracle cards recently too, and I really love those using those too. :happy1:

PostSubject: Re: Tarot   Tue May 19, 2009 4:35 pm

Hi Fluffy,
Got my new Vision Quest tarot cards today and I gave my friend Pat a reading from them. Don't use the book of instructions with these I just go by the impressions I get from looking at each tarot card.
Do you know you can use tarot cards for meditation? I like pictorial tarot cards, not symbolic ones (symbolic tarot ie 3 Cups, just has 3 cups on it and nothing else, but pictorial tarot cards have scenes on each card). If you read tarot intuitively you don't use the definitions in the booklet that comes with them, you go by what the pictures on each card say to you. I never read tarot cards reversed, I turn them right way around, because using your intuition rather than tarot meanings means you don't need to read cards reversed if you don't want too.
I think one of the best tarot starter packs is the Ryder Waite deck, this was the deck my mom always used and it's one of the decks I use. To get used to your tarot cards, you could pick one card out of the deck each night, gaze at the scene on the card and let this tell you a story. Don't try and force things, just gaze at it and see what thoughts come into your mind. Do the same thing the following night until you've done this with all of your cards. Some readers only read the Major Arcana (The Empress, The Tower, The Lovers, Hierophant, Death, The Hermit, The Star etc) and never use Minor Arcana cards like 2 of wands, 3 of cups, 5 of swords. Kirsty's fantastic at reading tarot and other oracle cards, she's very skilled but she's doing them 15 years or so. I'm hoping she'll be able to share some of her tarot wisdom with us all later. I've posted a couple of pieces in the SQ Tarot section and I think one of those is about How to Keep a Tarot Diary, which I think's an excellent idea. Shocked
Have you tried using the Free Automated Readings link stored under SQ Useful Links. You can choose an automated tarot, rune, domino, I-ching, animal spirits and other reading. Although these are only 'freebie' automated readings for fun, I posted that link so members who want to see what tarot cards look like and see some spreads you can use with tarot, could look at the ones in there. Have you ever read anything pictorial before such as angel or other oracle cards?

hi,thanks :tyou: for your reply,i shall be keeping an eye out now for the 'right' pack of tarot.a friend has a pack of faerie cards which he uses and i really liked so may get something like that.i like the idea of choosing a card each day and looking at it to see what i read into it,and also the idea of recording this in a tarot diary.i dont think im at all psychic confused does this make a difference to being able to read the cards?no ive never read anything pictoral before at all,so i am quite excited with this new challenge :happy1: thanks for your help, and i shall now be looking in the tarot section for info ,hope you have a good day sunny fluffyxx

Hi Fluffy,
Have you ever found you can look up at the clouds and sometimes pick out images in those ie a cloud looks like a bird, a face, or even an angel? Most people do this but think they could never interpret images on tarot cards or pick out symbols in a dry tea-leaf reading. We've all got a sixth sense (though some choose to ignore it completely, it's just a matter of developing this (some call this their gut feeling, intuition or psychic sense). Many times people don't recognise that they have these abilities, because they put things they get down to imagination all the time. That's why it's worth keeping a tarot (or oracle card diary). Before you use a booklet with your cards, try looking at 3 cards (these could represent Past, Present, Future or anything else you want them to represent), write name of each card down in your diary then write down any impressions you get from them (what you feel they mean). Then take out booklet and then check the meanings against your impressions. Some may be the same, they may all differ, but if you write your impressions down in a diary, you can always check later to find out if your impressions were accurate. (Hope that makes sense?) cheers

yes it does make sense ,thanyou.and yes i do look at the clouds and see images,i have done it for years ,and also did it with my children who also do it now lol.i do wonder if maybe my son is a little psychic, hes 10 now.when he was about 2 he would be lying on the floor playing, and would say 'i can hear people talking again',apparently he could hear voices under the floor he said.also on one occasion he came running down stairs terrified when was little older and said his wardrobe had 'lifted'off the floor.he has also had a go at seeing auras when i have been practising and said he can see white around things and we also had a go at looking at the same object and both thought it was purple.he also has 'strange feelings' he says, for instance he came home from school one day not long ago really worried he said he had a real sense that somewhere something really bad had happened and it had stayed with him all afternoon at school.he mentioned an imaginary friend the other day called bob,but think maybe he is imaginaryhe says he sensed rather than saw him,but hasnt mentioned him again.well i hope i havent been waffling lol ,fluffy xx

PostSubject: Runes.   Sat Jan 29, 2011 9:18 am

I too have a set of runes that i have just done a swap with a member on S&D, so i am looking forward to using them. This may be a dafrt question, but should i cleanse them before use?, i know the lady said they were unused. As i have several decks of angel oracle cards, i always cleanse these when i buy them. I too have really enjoyed connecting with my angel oracle cards and enjoy doing readings for others.

Hi Golden Angel, Pleased you're getting a set of runes as I really enjoy using mine and have several sets, including a set of Healing Runes, Serenity Runes and a set of lovely gemstone runes that I got last Xmas. My first set are green, plastic rectangles with rune symbols on them, not pretty like some of my others, but they're still my favourite set, probably because they were the first ones I bonded with.

It's not a daft question to ask regarding if you should cleanse your runes, as they're new and I'm sure opinions will vary as to whether you really need to do this or not. However, I feel it's always good to cleanse any psychic tools when you get them (irrespective of whether they are brand new or second hand). Some tools sit on a shelf in a shop for months and months before someone buys them, or may sit in a dingy stockroom. Often people handle these psychic tools, look at them but put them back without buying them, so even though they've never been used for readings, and are still in their box or wrapper, I still think it's good to cleanse them first.

Which angel oracle cards do you use?

Love Pat xxxx

PostSubject: Runes   Sat Jan 29, 2011 3:36 pm

Hi pat, thank you for getting back to me regarding your runes, they all sound lovely yes i have a feeling that i should cleanse them so i will and also reiki charge them, i suppose if i didn't cleanse them like you say they could have been handled or sat on a shelf for a while. OOOh i have so many Doreen Virtue oracle cards, i have Goddess guidance oracle cards, AA Raphael, and about another 4 or 5 decks, that i cannot think of the top of my head, but will get them out and post back to you. I have just recieved another deck for swappsies from S& D forum that i want to cleanse and connect with. They are Destiny's portal by Barbara moore. Thank you again for taking the time to reply to my post. I will let you know how i get on with the runes.
Love GA :asmile: :friends: xxxx
