| BUDDHISM I've posted the link below for any members who are interested in finding out more about the Concepts and Teachings of Buddhism (eg Three Universal Truths, Five Precepts, Four Noble Truths, Noble Eightfold Path, scriptures, Buddhist festivals and more)
http://online.sfsu.edu/~rone/Buddhism/footsteps.htm
(If you follow the path and teachings of Buddha already, we would love to hear what first drew you to Buddhism, and what you feel it has to offer others. ) | |

| Hi Pat, thanks for the link . I have recently met a lovely chap who is a buddhist, And I have made enquiries about their meditation group. The lady I met was so lovely and helpful...Carn't wait, I go next week on Friday. Have been invited to their spring celebration in the lake district this month. I can't go for the whole weekend because of work commitments, but am going for the one day. Will let you know how it goes... Will ask Ron if he would write something about the buddhist beliefs, if you want... love Debbie xxx | |

| Hi everyone, well went to my !st ever buddhist teaching and meditation last night. I walked alone into a lovely group of 9 people I had never met before, which was a little daunting as I am not that confident. but asked the angels for help... and of course they did... A young Monk gave the teaching, it was to do with stilling the mind and showing compassion in any circumstances, especially in difficult times. And why we CHOOSE to become angry with things or people... how to let go and give up victory to the other person, why do we find it so hard to let go...what stops us from saying ..ok we will do it your way, not mine...??? As far as the mediatation went, that was lovely, only for me as soon as I started to relax.....I started to see colours and peoples faces!! This always happens when I meditate... I had to really focuss hard on my breathing and ask them ( spirit that is) to leave... Plus I went very cold and tingerly to the point of my arms were aching... I felt that something else was with us and it wasn't Budda....lol I didn't say anything as they were all in a different place mentally, There was a point that yes I did enjoy the teaching , but I felt I was experiencing something else... oh heavens does that make sense??? I did enjoy it, and will go back on Friday, see if 'things' settle down a bit..lol love to you all Debbie xx | |

| Hi, Just a quick up date on my Buddhist journey....I have so many different journeys going on its no wonder I dont know if I am coming or going!! lol I went to the buddhist centre on Sunday. they were having a day retreat with meditation and a lovely lunch thrown in as well. I went at 9 and it finished at 6pm.. I really enjoyed it, I had had a very stressful week and I needed the time out and it was really nice meeting new people. Though I did have a slight panic attack at going in on my own!!! I rang the door bell before I changed my mind. We had disscussions and believe or not, because I didnt realise till Dragen the resident monk told me 5 hours of mediataion!! I must have needed it ... will keep you up dated as I go... love debbie xx | |
